We received a call from a customer with a broken supply line that was inside a wall cavity on the first floor. There was thousands of gallons filling up the basement quickly. There was six inches of standing water in the basement when we arrived. We immediately started pumping and extracting all standing water from the basement, while trying to remove salvageable content from the area. Once all water had been safely removed, we began covering all remaining content and doorways with 4 mil plastic poly sheeting to contain our work area. Then to begin the demolition process, we quickly assessed and removed all wet sheetrock, insulation, trim, and cabinetry from the area. Once done, a final cleaning consisted of mopping and vacuuming all areas as well as an antimicrobial treatment, to prevent any unwanted mold or mildew. We then placed drying equipment throughout the affected area, to expedite the drying process. We closely monitored the drying over the next 72 hours to make sure it dried as quickly and efficiently as possible.
